I visited the Duomo on my own and was quite impressed. The church looks imposing from the outside, but is quite bright and airy on the inside. The plaster ceiling is worth a look on its own. 10 or 15 minutes will probably do it...More

A fairly stark cathedral but beautifully decorated ceiling. The adjoining bell tower was fun to climb - all included in the 6 euro "passe-partout" ticket that you can buy. This gives you access to 5 of the major churches in town, including the bell tower....More

This church has a very unique and beautiful vaulted ceiling with intricate stucco work that resembles lace. We have never seen anything like it before. The adjacent tower was worth the climb for the excellent views from above.

Out of the many churches in this medieval town, this is considered the best and most important. Cost is 2 euros per adult. One can also climb the 13th century bell tower for a combined ticket of 5 euros. In January, not all the churches are...More

As we were arriving to visit this beautiful, striking cathedral a bride and groom came out. They happily let us take photos and we felt almost part of the festivities! This added to the memories we took away of a special day and a unique little...More

Stunning, which surprised me given the plain and uninspiring exterior. I so nearly didn’t go in at all. Everyone who entered gasped at the ornate and pale cream interior. It is certainly not like the many other Duomos I have seen in Italy.

This was honestly one of the most interesting and jaw dropping churches I have been to (and I am a medievalist who studies them!) the atmosphere and general visit were spectacular. Pay the €1 for the guide book at the door, totally worth it to...More

this was a nice church but was nothing special, i found all of Erice to be nothing more then a tourist trap. there are so many other beautiful locations in Sicily that i will not return to Erice, had to go once.

One of my favorite churches which I visit every time. Peace, purity and light. This time somebody was singing the song Alleluia in the church and it gave all the other feelings. The bell tower offers great views of the city and the islands.
