Small town, but nice. About 15 minutes from Panzano. Parking lot was easy to find. 2 euros for 2 hours. Went through the Via delle Volte tunnel that you can walk through. Has a couple of stores and gelato, which was good. Walked in the...More

Well renovated castle offering splendid views of the town and surrounding countryside. The castle includes a small exhibition focussed on Roman and Estruscan artifacts. Problem we found was that beyond the exhibition there was so little other history covered which was a shame given that...More

Castellina in Chianti is well worth visiting for the shops and restaurants as well as some beautifully restored ancient architectural gems including the castle in the centre of Castellina

This castle certainly offers beautiful daytime views but the night time sky on a clear night is amazing!

Having not done a lot of research into Castellina in Chianti I didn't realise there was an actual castle in a square at the top of the hill. Accessed through a museum (not super exciting, few bits of broken pottery) the castle keep is very...More

While walking around the town, we stumbled upon Rocca di Castellina and it was so incredible to see! This area is perfect for a day trip from Florence. So many amazing areas to take photos of -- especially the little church!

We were drving through this place onward to Greve in Chianti and decided to stop by this place. It was a good deicision. Awesome view to the landscape from here. Visited a local vineyard and went to a cafe for re-freshement.

Castellina in Chianti is a great and picturesque small village in top of one of those great Tuscan hills and La Rocca is the highlight of the village. It has great historical significance as it is where the Chianti league was based as pace keepers...More
