Castellammare was once a resort town. Bad management meant that the thermal baths went bankrupt. (They had one of the biggest spas in Italy). At the moment there is talk of it being sold and reopened. The promenade has recently been done up and is...More

Recently finished, this walk along the seafront is very nice. The path weaves along beside grass and planted islands and there are water fountains every so often. Popular with joggers and cyclists as well as locals going for a stroll. Nice views across the bay...More

The promenade is a nice place to stroll with an old bandstand left from the resort's former days of glory. There is some work in progress to tidy the gardens and make improvements. There are places to sit, statues and drinking fountains but when we...More

Currently under refurbishment (June 2017) but should be finished by end of July / August. Great place for a chilled evening walk to take in the views and sunset over the bay of Naples. Usually cooler due to the coastal breeze. Plenty of ice cream...More

I stopped by Casellammare di Stabia with no expectatios and was welcomed by a warmth, not only by the weather and the workings of the Lungomare but by the people. It is going to be a wonderful area once these works are finished.

After many years of construction work the promenade or as it's locally known as the "Villa Comunale", along the Bay of Naples and at the beginning of the Sorrento Peninsula, has finally been accomplished for the major part. The project cost in the region of...More
