Ancient village overlooking the sea
Aug 2020
Beautiful ancient village on the hill of Saint Angel in the Protected Area of Cilento.
You can see it dominate the seaside from his high.
When you will arrive on the square in front of the castle of the abbot you will be charme by the view on the Cilento area and a wonderful sea.
On days with little haze you will able to see the Amalfi coast.
If you have seen the movie Wellcome to the South (2010) you will be impressed by the small road and squares . The post office is a pub....

Stunning view
Aug 2019 • Family
Gorgeous view and piazza. Beautiful Italian village that is a must see if you are visiting the Cilento. You have to wend your way through tiny streets to get to the piazza but it’s well worth the 10 minutes from the car park because the views are truly stunning when you get there. Nice gelateries too!

Amazing view
Mar 2019 • Couples
You can tour the castle for 1 euro. The castle is very old but the real gem is the amazing view of the cilento coast from the viewpoint beside it. Then walk to the piazza, a real Italian gem. This is the real Italy

A beautiful medieval town part of the club the most beautiful villages in Italy
Feb 2018 • Solo
On the seaside is the fraction Santa Maria which sits directly on the waterfront with many historic houses, palaces, a medieval tower and two pretty churches. We then drove uphill until we reached the center of Castellabate, perched on the hilltop overlooking the surrounding landscape and the sea below. The town's name translates to Abbot's Castle as its castle was built by the abbot Costabile Gentilcore during the 12th century. This town is part of the club, the most beautiful villages in Italy.
