First off, Danila is an excellent guide. She is a polished historian, and quite knowledgeable. We learned so much about the allied advance up the peninsula, and the array of allied troops fighting along the Gustav line, and finally breaking it. I hope that we...More

My family of four (two children ages 18 and 20) spent two days touring with Danila. We did a “Rome day” first and a second day where we followed the 36th division’s battles/pathway leading up to Montecassino. For our Rome tours, we saw the colosseum,...More

How much do these tours normally cost? Want to go to Anzio. I have checked the website and cannot find an answer. The train ticket from Rome Termini is 3.60 Euro per person one way. I found another tour site that is asking 74 Euro per person and includes picking you up at your hotel in Rome and driving you back and forth with your guide. I am pretty good at researching and was going to just do this trip on my own, but the use of a guide would be nice if it was not too expensive. I would also like to see the vehicle museum which I assume is difficult to get to via public transportation. Also I plan to be there the week of the 75th anniversary. Another reason to go on my own was to see any additional ceremonies or events and not be tied down to a tour. I do not have any direct connection or relatives, i am just a WWII history buff.

The cost really depends from the number of people. The tour is a private tour not a group tour and the cost of a Mercedes van, driver and WW2 guide can be expensive for one person. So I think the best is to travel on your... More
