We visited Avigliana with the intention of going up to the Sacre Di San Michele, but alas I had neglected to see the bit about the shuttle bus not running after November 1st. Not wanting to waste our time there we chose to wander from...More

A lovely walk along cobbled streets to the old part of the town. The 13th century church of San Giovanni is worth a look inside. The clock tower is very beautiful and there is an interesting war memorial. Around the back of the piazza, there...More

I enjoyed the look and feel of the place and would have liked to sample one or more of its eating establishments. Other commitments meant that I could only look. I particularly liked the portico-ed side of the main square.

The Centro Storico was not mentioned in any of our guide books, which is surprising as it is a very charming mix of ancient porticoes, crumbling towers, gateways and churches. In many respects, the sort of thing many of us hope to find in Italy....More

Small characterful and unspoilt town fairly close to Turin. Lots of old cobbled streets, three town gates and two impressive churches, and the ruins of the castle on the hill above the town. The town does cater for tourists in a low key way, which...More

I came to the Centro Storico of Avigliana regularly, to attend the evening school on ETCHING , run by two fantastic artists, Vinicio Perugia and Kurt Mayer, but returned during the day for Antique Fairs, Exhibitions, Dinners. So enjoyable!

Certainly worth going up to the city centre. Leave you canr down town and take a walk. The center is not too big but nice to spend an hour

Lovely old town, we were there for a wedding. It should have been out in the open in giardino delle donne, but rain tried to put a dampers on the day. But in an old centre like this, even indoors the day was great.
