Out of Dingle town, Slea head Dr shouldn't be missed. Since coming to Ireland 45 years ago Dingle has been our favorite destination and can't miss this drive. The Blasket Islands are so close as you drive out. The statue of The Blessed Mother is...More

I took a bus tour from Cork to Dingle and did not have much time to explore the Dingle peninsular. There was a storm coming in and the driver was a bit in a hurry to show us everything and drive away before the weather...More

We lucked out and got a partly sunny, sporadicly rainy day. The views were so beautiful and we had the best time!

We lucked-out, arriving in Dingle on a perfect sunny afternoon -- and immediately headed west toward Slea Head Drive, just in time for the beautiful sunset. The road is narrow, but traffic was minimal. This was definitely a highlight of our journey along the Wild...More

Beautiful views of cliffs, ocean, fields, and ruins plus views of Great Blasket Island and some opportunities to learn about the history of Ireland. We wouldn't have missed this for anything even though the road is narrow and busy on a nice day. We stoped...More

If you're going to Ireland: 1) go to Dingle, and 2) don't miss this beautiful drive! We did it twice -- in both rain and sun. Both were beautiful!

Allow for plenty of time. Lots of drop dead scenery, but road is narrow and drivers have to concentrate on the road. Stop whenever you can to get to water's edge, as well as scenic viewpoints.

Loved traveling around the Dingle Peninsula. Every turn has another magnificent view. The day we visited was very sunny so that did help make the views more vibrant and stunning.

It's a must do. If you don't feel comfortable driving, hire a a driver or get the tour bus. Just do it!

We traveled the Slea Head Drive the day after Storm Callum, the sea was still quite rough and very impressive. We experienced little traffic and were able to easily stop for viewing/pictures. We didn’t stop at every site along the route, there are many, but...More

We drove with the busses. We left a bit ahead of them around 8:30 they did catch up because we pulled over a lot. It is nice to get behind one occasionally because the roads are narrow and they clear the way since cars have... More

We stopped near Ventry at the Relics of 1845 Famine and then the Prehistoric Beehive Hut Fahan Group. Great sea views, cool buildings and grazing animals add to the experience. Head to the Great Blasket Centre. It is a... More

It is basically a big loop leaving from and returning to Dingle. You need to give yourself a minimum of 4-5 hours to do it justice.
