About
The St. Lucia Golf Club is the 18-hole Championship course of St. Lucia. The undulating par-71 only plays 6,685 yards off the blues, but the course attracts a USGA rating of 74.3, taking into account the strong winds, numerous water hazards, and 16 out-of-bounds. The 20,000 sq. ft. Clubhouse is located just five minutes from Pigeon Island and Rodney Bay, within a short distance of Castries. The Club features a well-stocked bar, restaurant, duty-free pro-shop, drinks cart, halfway house and driving range.

This experience is very overpriced and too far from the resort to make it worth your time.
The course takes close to 1.5 hours to get to. When you arrive the course is in very rough shape and not like any of the pictures. It’s a golf course on a tropical island and the course is brown… They only appear to water the greens. Your greens fee is free of you stay at Sandals but they do require you to pay $50 for a cart. The club rental was a nice Titleist set ran us $75 that included a sleeve of ProV1s. Be sure to bring your own balls because a sleeve is $25 if you need more.
Food and beverages are not included in your all inclusive package. There was not a beverage cart out so load up before and at the turn.
The course was a fun layout and had some challenging holes. The hazards are poorly marked so if it’s your first time playing be aware of a creek system that runs through the course and some sneaky OB on blind tee shots.
Pace of play was great. We hardly saw any other guests and had a wide selection of tee times to choose from.
Overall, spending 3 hours in a car, spending $125 to golf, $80 for a taxi, and 4+ hours on this course wasn’t worth missing a majority of the day by the pool with free food and drinks.

The layout keeps you interested with water features and changes in elevation. Lots of holes are tight with trees and water ditches or out of bounds down one side or the other. Greens were in good condition but slowish in November. Although you get 8 hours of sun a day, it rains in heavy bursts. This means the fairways are squidgy in places and you will want to play pick, wipe and place. My SkyCaddie GPS didn’t work other than for the shape of the hole so not mapped. Overall, it’s enjoyable tropical golf.

Very nice golf course, much better then expectations. Long well kept, very narrow so challenging. Staff unfortunately sloppy and not helpful. Really demotivated, no water on the carts, no service around. But I can live with it.
Renting clubs a very expensive option 75usd , but they are new and good quality.

This golf course has only 17 holes open yet still charge $200 per head. The condition of the course is terrible with almost no grass on many fairways. The original Greg Norman design has been tampered with moving greens around leaving the course a complete failure. Please please save yourself an appalling experience and keep you clubs in the car.

We had booked a golf lesson with Regis as my husband would like to see if he could still remember how to play after many years of not touching a golf club.
Regis is the perfect person to have as your trainer and his attitude to teaching someone is impeccable and my husband left smiling and he'll sign up for more lessons next time we're in St Lucia.
The golf course is also stunning - I look forward to seeing it after it's final renovation in a few months.

We heard good things about the golf course. We paid for golf and rental clubs. The coat was $250 US per person.
First, the clubs were in terrible condition.
I understand them being used but the grips were frayed and uncomfortable.
The golf carts were ok but we were not given towels.
There were no ball washers on the course.
We saw the beverage cart on the first hole and then never again.
The most important thing was the course was in terrible shape. The fairways have not been maintained at all. There was different grass and patchy.
Greens were ok but very hard.
The experience was really disappointing.
My recommendation is don’t pay to play here. Sandals bought the club but clearly has done no work or maintenance.
Stay away.

Way overpriced for what you get. The course is not the best, as it rains often in St Lucia. The course is very wet and you must stay on cart path. 9 holes and 18 holes is the same price. Wouldn’t make the drive for this course.

The golf course was in great condition. The pace of play was on time. The houses on the golf course are something to look at. The Mountain View are amazing. Would recommend to any golfer and will be playing this course again

This Golf Club is turning into a nightclub style party Venue .
Golf seems to be of little interest to the current management.
Such a shame as this was a great golf club until a couple of years ago .

Quick visit here but not to play golf . Bar staff .... well one lady was nothing short of hostile . Refused to give WiFi code saying she didn’t know it ... most unhelpful place in the Caribbean.

Have the refurbishment works been completed on the 18 hole championship course?
If not, when are they due to be completed?
I am going in September this year.
thanks
Written 16 February 2020
I think they will be finished by then - from memory, it's not that far off

I am traveling to the St James Club. This is the closest course to the resort. Is it fully opened? What is the cost if I bring my own clubs?
Written 15 February 2019
We were there last September and they were remodeling the front 9 when we went to play. There isn't much view of the ocean or anything. It was pretty but dry and pretty plain honestly. Love being able to say i golfed in St Lucia but to say it was worth the money, I am not sure I could. If we would've gotten to play the whole course maybe

is it walkable (trolley) or is buggy recommended ?
Written 10 May 2018
It is walkable, but due to the heat and humidity I would suggest a buggy is almost essential - take plenty of drinks to avoid dehydration
