Really helpful ferryman, who went out of his way to be really helpful. Coming from East Mersea we had to work out that you park at the country park, and walk to the extremity of the beach, about 20 minutes from the car park.

Always a pleasure to come here by boat. The harbour staff find you a berth quickly often take your lines coming onto the berth. Shoreside, there’s a jetty that is always popular with crabbers. The ferry is available to take people from Brightlingsea to Point...More

The harbour has all sorts of boats and always some activity. There is a plucky little ferry to the other side and to East Mersea - so make a day trip of it. Very tidal

Trip highly recommended - taking you over to East Mersea Island and beautiful quiet beach. Huge thanks to the crew for helping me out (cyclist with red helmet) when I found myself on the wrong side of the river!

Not a lot of depth in the harbour so choose your tide correctly. We draw 2 metres depth, so we were sat on the bottom at low water. But the bottom is soft, so we just sank in, and stayed upright. Good shower facilities at...More
