Not the biggest of beaches and at busy times suspect would be crowded, however on a quiet Tuesday after a Bank Holiday it was fine. There is a nice paddling area for young children, sand is fine if a little stony. The walk along the...More

I, a Yorkshire man have been visiting Brightlingsea for 66 years. I love the place. The old BUDC accent seems to be lost and the locals are from many places. (Brightlingsea Urban District Council!!) I can report some things haven't changed, the tide for example!...More

Visited on a Sunday afternoon in April. Due to time of year parking was free. Took a lovely short walk around the beach & beach huts and out to Bateman Tower for the lovely views to Mersea Island.

Nothing to see here and not a great place to visit. Sad and tired with nothing of any great appeal. It was a grey day but I think even with the sun it wouldn’t be much better.

Such character. Mix of shingle and sand. Lovely area by beach huts and cafe for children to safety play on a wide stretch of sand and shallow waters. Don't forget your crabbing line and bucket

Having picked up a brochure on this small town from the information office I was expecting something a little better! Oh my word! This place is plain dull and disappointing. There is literally nothing to see in the town, and taking a brief drive down...More
