We are here on a day in October when the weather was still balmy and the sun was shining. We were taking a few days on a short break with friends, and had never before been to Brightlingsea. It was our intention to spend an...More

Stayed for a week in Harbourside apartment. Great location overlooking harbour and estuary with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Only 1 road in and out so a bit remote - ideal quite hideaway.

We went for a nice stroll along the beach in late September, the air was nice and it was still warm enough to wear shorts. This area is well kept up.

We love the promenade, such a glorious beach to visit and never over busy. Parking is great too. Make sure you visit Bateman’s cafe for your lunch too!

We walked from the car park in to town, went passed the beach huts and lido. It was a sunny day with lots of people about enjoying the sun. It’s a lovely walk up to the marina.

Nice beach, muddy and shallow seafront for kids, playground, public toilets, great ice-cream! Enjoyable enough, definitely recommend to bring a beach umbrella as there's no shade.

clean & tidy, lido, paddling, cafes & toilets, parking, playgrounds, walks However it's not really sand - because 3 inches down is black mud. At high tide, there is a lot of old concrete

We were there in April so really didn't take much notice. As a dog owner though the general rule is May 2 End of Aug no dogs are allowed on most beaches. Having said that most beaches have DOG FRIENDLY sections. I live in... More

Not between certain times of the year 1 May to 30 September between the beach and the swimming pool but there is lots of other parts down near the water that dogs are allowed.
