One of the main issues about the villages up the west coast of Lake Como is the bust road which runs through. The Greenway is a lovely way of keeping off that on foot. My daughter and I ran from Sala Comacina to the start...More

Some of our most enjoyable holiday time on Lake Como has been walking the Greenway del Lago, but there are a few points, which deserve a mention. The views are fabulous, but the walk only stretches for about 11km from Colonno to Griante (or vice...More

The walk takes you up and down and around all while giving you always something to look at. The path is easy and once you get to the end you can catch a ferry back so you don't have to walk the same route back.

After our tour of Villa Balbianello, we walked along the lakeside and passed Hotel S.Giorgo. After that we headed away from the lake and started to climb up the cobbled lane leading to the village of Mezzegra. There are arrows indicating the direction for this...More

If you take the ferry to villa Carlotta, and walk into Tremezzo, there is a tourist information office. They should be able to help you.
