One of my favourite places on this planet, Bodmin Moor, so wild and enchanting. I want my ashes scattering from the top so I can fly to the five corners of Cornwall

Once we'd managed to find the car park, we had a brilliant walk exploring the peaks of Roughtor. The terrain is challenging but not horrendous, and the surrounding wildlife is lovely. Brilliant views at the top and a nice chat with the wild ponies on...More

Absolutely love coming up here for a walk with the dog. Beautiful views, very peaceful, one of the highest points in Cornwall. Lots of wild ponies and sheep around. There is a free car park in camelford for roughtor, but it's a fairly long walk....More

Lovely walk to the top and awesome views on a clear day when you get there. Check the weather forecast before you go though as the mist can come in quickly

Magical place and well worth the climb to the summit for outstanding views. They encourage you to pick up after your dogs but there is no bun in the car park. Such a shame.

This is more for the hardened walkers. Wear walking boots and choose a day with food weather and you will be rewarded with true Bodmin moor. Wild bleak and views.

It was challenging getting to Roughtor from Camelford--we took the shorter (but extremely narrow) access road right from the town; it might have been better to go the other way (further north on the . We got there around 2pm on a sunny Sunday and...More

Wellies are recommended as it's boggy all the way up, but well worth it. Good size carpark at the bottom but no toilets. We thought we'd got to the top until the mist lifted and we realised we had only reached Little Roughtor - the...More
