I took my daughter to see the statue both because of the significance of the battle and because her great-grandpa worked on the statue when it was cast back in the early 1960s. The intricate detailing of the bronze is well worth seeing.

Stopped off here en route to Stirling and found it very interesting. The information boards tell the history of the scottish / English battle in a concise, easy to understand format. Well worth a visit.

It’s a big grazed area very popular with dog walkers, nice to visit in the better weather. Watch out for the dog poop.
