The further you go along the beach the better for peace and space. There is building work in place at the Sandown end which is def not quiet.

I'm a regular visitor to the Isle of Wight and Sandown has to be one of my favorite locations on the Island. The beach must be one of the cleanest in the south and is well worth walking the whole distance on a nice day....More

Whilst the cliffs at Yaverland may not be quite reach the spectacle of Tennyson Down at the other end of the Island, the over all impression with the beach beneath is well worth the journey and this is justifiably a very popular area.

Nice clean beach to walk along, if you wander to the far end, be careful of the tides. Very rocky at the far end, great for dog walkers and horses too.

Brilliant beach, easy to park and the bonus is that dogs are permitted on a section all year round. So nice to find a beach that ticks all the boxes to keep kids and dog happy.

This is a long stretch of nice sandy beach, with a good walk towards the Culver Cliffs 1 mile from the car park and cafe. The cafe does very nice cappuccinos and cakes!
