This was top of the Grandson’s list for a holiday on the Isle of Man. It may only be a short run but is great fun. The narrow gauge steam railway was originally built to carry Victorian visitors to the ‘zoo’ in the enclosures at...More

Caught the tram to Groudle Glen, what a surprise when you got down from the main road. All the more so because it was a bright sunny day. It was a lovely walk through the woods along a stream to the railway station. Although this...More

An excellent place. Staff were friendly, great views and well turned out unique locomotives and rolling stock. A hidden gem finding the station in a natural glen, which adds to the interest. Obviously limited space to extend the line much further , but definitely a...More

I first went to Groudle in 1977 and that time there was barely a trace of the Victorian pleasue line to be seen. Now you see a faithful rebuilding with high attention to detail and much effort to re-create the scene as it must have...More

Wasn't sure what to expect from this little publicised railway as we'd previously been on all the well known transport. It's a great walk through the Glen to get to the main station and then a short ride along the coastline to Sea Lion café...More

This place is a little gem. Food is lovely and with great service. Fantastic view across the bay. The glen just below the cafe is a magical place to walk through with children and your pets. Loads of fun and a ride on the steam...More

Enjoyable visit, though it was very crowded on Easter Sunday. Short journey to the coast and cafe. £4 per person reasonable for what the GGR has to offer. Obviously especially good for young children.

This is a volunteer run railway that leads down to the coast. Get off at the Groudle electric railway stop and walk down the glen to the railway. At busy times there is a queue but it is fun and worth it. Lovely views as...More

Yes dogs are allowed at the railway if kept on a lead. Dog tickets (yes they get their own ticket) are just 50 pence. We look forward to seeing you.
