About
A wheelchair-friendly 1 mile walk on the South West Path around Paignton's Roundham Head, the hub of the town's sixteenth-century fishing industry. The headland's rocky red layered cliffs are topped with pines and sycamores. There are extensive views, northwards across Tor Bay and over Goodrington Sands to Brixham in the south. On a good day you can even see across Lyme Bay to Portland.

The green patch around roundham has a winding trail that is interesting to walk down to the beach. Yet, the areas between roundham are a bit touristy, cheap food, a lot of people.

Very disappointed. We went early evening but ALL the bollard lights on the path down to goodrigton were not working so we went to Brixham whose lights were working.

What else can I say........it's beautiful, even on a cloudy day. Some of it is a tad steep, and the cliff walk down into Goodrington Bay is very steep, so people in non-motorized mobility equipment might find it hard going.
Highly recommend for the views alone!

The views from Roundham head looking out to Brixham and Torquay are beautiful. A favourite dog walk of mine (but beware sheer drops around here so keep your dog safe). Continuing on into Goodrington along the coast path provides further wonderful views and Goodrington itself is a beauty to behold.

Hi,
We are planning a day out from Bath late October on the train down to the Torquay/Paignton area, We will not have a car so we will need to walk everywhere to sightsee or enjoy the coastal scenery . This is just a day trip so won't have a huge amount of time, but would also appreciate a good traditional pub nearby as well. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

If traditional is important, I agree with The Drum...buses do run there, it's a bit too far to walk unless you are keen walkers..
Otherwise, I would recommend The Inn on the Green, Esplanade Road, Paignton - not "timbered beams" traditional, but seaside type; eat inside, or outside with the sea front immediately across the road. They do "two for one" on a large selection of meals plus various beers on tap.
Also, a little more upmarket, but not extortionate is The Shoreline - a 1930's restaurant up steps above the Eastern Esplanade, Paignton - you won't beat the views from here!
