Beach and many more activities. Lovely few hours
Visited on Easter Sunday, we explored the Park area with the swan boats, play area, walk along near the beach huts and a play on the beach. A lovely few hours. Parking was at the pay and display, about £4.00 for 3 hours. The swans were £6 for a 20/30 min go and we paid in cash - unsure if they take card. The park was enough for 15 minutes play for our 8 and 4 year old. The beach, was busy with dogs. As a non dog family, I did feel we were the odd ones out! As far as I saw, the dogs and owners were respectable and didn't leave any mess behind. I did feel a bit overwhelmed by them though and would prefer to return to the beach when it is not dog season. The sands were down a ramp near the pub and premier inn or steps down. The sand was red (iron) and quite hard rather than soft for sandcastles, I did notice later that the sand in front of the train track near to the Quaywest and Pub was much softer. It was a nice beach, not too stony or rocky and my boys ran into the water for a little paddle. There were lots of rocks to explore for rockpools when the tide went out and a beach hut to buy snacks and bits and bobs nearby.

    Goodrington
We stayed in Goodrington for a few nights as a family and loved it. It is such a great place and the beach in particular is beautiful. Even though we didn't have our dog with us this time I love that dogs are allowed on the beach, we will bring ours with us next time.

    Best beach in Torbay
Lovely, golden sand with gentle azure waves. There are shops for refreshments, food, drinks, inflatables, buckets and spades nearby. Sunbeds (£6), chairs (£5), wind breakers (£4) and beach huts (£34) are available to hire for the day.

    Lovely beach
Lovely clean beach with plenty of facilities. We went twice in our week holiday as we felt this was the best beach out of the bay. The costa was a great addition. We only stayed for a few hours at a time so I am not sure if the facilities were good if you stayed all day but were enough for what we needed. Only thing was a sand drifter pinched my daughters spade. But in grand scheme of things a spade going missing wasn’t that bad and probably a little child just picked it up and walked off with it. Kids had a great few hours each day playing in sand and even in the sea. Well maintained, clean and safe beach. And even better the steam train passed every half an hour so kids could see that up close again.

Lovely place to spend the day
Absolutely beautiful place , stunning park with a boating lake , crazy golf , a cafe / restaurant, ice-cream/ coffee shacks , very friendly locals. Fabulous views, always something going on at the park . Lovely walk over the headland back to Paignton, takes about 30 minutes. The splash park , harvester restaurant, costa and a few shops are just outside the park about 5 minutes walk away .

Love this beach and the surrounding areas we came here while we stayed at Beverly park as it’s not that far, we walked along to the end and back it was a lovely warm sunny day with the sun shining reflecting on the sea ❤️❤️

Really enjoyed the beach. The sand was great, good proximity to toilets, ice creams and snack bar. There was some sea weed on the beach but that is just nature.
It is a dog friendly beach. However, the dogs and their owners are roaming free with little understanding that not everyone wants their dogs running onto your blanketsl sniffing your food, scaring off the kids and even trying to pee on your bag !
They should allow a chunk of beach for the dogs to roam and the rest on the leach - this is only because some dog owners are just inconsiderate.

Absolutely mayhem here. Kid’s flocking in numbers trying to scream louder than the seagulls. But on more serious note… lovely area for young families. My daughter felt too grown up for peddlers boats and other rides, she is 11
Nice beach not far from car park to walk to. We walked down as far as this seaside cafe/chipshop/bar. But didn’t like the looks of it unfortunately. So we never ordered anything, bare in mind we were absolutely starving too.
We ended up driving to Paignton instead, which was far more a better place and ate @ a nice fish & chipshop too

This is the second time we have been to Goodrington. We went as a couple last time. This time we went with family my son his wife and two granddaughters aged 6 & 8.

We had a great holiday using the pool everyday and the local amenities.
We stayed apartments 2 and 4 they were clean and comfy. Appt 4 had the incredible view of the park and coast line. Appt2 no views but we expected this and only slept there.

Now here come the negatives. The whole place is in need of an upgrade. It’s very tired inside and out.

The bathroom in appt 2 was clean but the plug in bath was very rusty. Shower was good and there was lots of hot water.
Furniture was dated, soft furnishing were ok.
The bottom sheet didn’t fit the bed in the main bedroom which was quite annoying as it kept popping off and was uncomfortable. Not what I’d expect from any establishment.
The kitchen was dated but fairly well equipped not the we used it.
The whole apartment was dark and quite dingy. Like I said earlier we only slept there. If we had been staying there for the week I don’t think it would have been suits for us. Although it is a lot cheaper than the front apartments

Appt 4
Light and bright in the main living area but once again it needs significant refurbishment. The cupboard doors are peopling and warped. A newish corner sofa was a great addition to the living area as was the modern table and chairs. The remaining furniture is mismatched and not the quality you would expect from this kind of accommodation.
The bathrooms were clean but dated and shabby.
The terrace was furnished with reasonable patio furniture but again the area needs some TLC
Bedrooms were clean and beds ok as far as I’m aware.

The pool is cleaned Mon to Fri it’s also heated and the children loved it. The area surrounding the pool is shabby and not really cared for. Needs tidying up and some TLC
The gardens need attention and cutting back the lawn needs mowing regularly.

The building itself needs a repaint and updating like the rest of the place.

What makes this ideal is the location and the pool along with the stunning views from the front apartments. The rear ones don’t really have a lot going for them.

All in all if you can see past the need for refurbishing etc it’s a good place to stay.

We visit the North Sands on a weekly basis with our dogs. The beach is lovely, has always been clean and free of litter. It's a very popular area and people always seem happy to be there.

However, there aren't many bins along the seafront for dog bags to be disposed of. I have mobility issues and need crutches, so carrying a bag of poo to the beach and back on my sticks isn't particularly pleasant. Also, the toilets are absolutely vile! 30p per entry, and they're always dirty and smell foul. In the half a dozen times I've used them, they have been in a horrible state. The stalls aren't easily accessible if you have mobility issues either.

Parking is OK if you get there early, there are medium sized car parks. In the peak times, you will be lucky to get a spot. There are some lovely little shops there. Also nice to see the steam trains go along the south beach.

As long as you don't need the toilet, it's a lovely place to go. Definitely a favourite beach of ours.

Was hoping for a lovely family day at the beach having read some good reviews. We arrived and were disappointed. The beach was littered with rubbish, including a dog poo on the dog free zone! The beach was also covered in green seaweed and swimming wasn’t very appealing. Dog poo in many places on the paths too. We left pretty quickly and went elsewhere
