Took a boat out on the river, lovely family day out, it was great value and good fun especially as the sun was shining and we had glorious weather. Durham is a beautiful city and this is an added attraction to suit families or couples....More

I hire a boat from Browns regularly. 1-3 times a month between April and October. Their attention to safety and helpfulness is fantastic and they welcome us each time to lovely and sturdy boats that they have built themselves. A lifebuoy is provided if requested....More

Sorry for delay, only just seen this question. We find Brown's tend to stay open until about mid/end October. Probably roundabout the half-term holiday. It can depend on the weather, as both number of hirers and river level... More
