Came in here for a birthday celebration with family and friends, lovely pub but the bar staff lets it down, no communication with customers more interested in her phone, very rude and impolite

The music quite simply is the best in this fine city. The fact that it is full of people of all ages, is testimony to how crap new music is. They play it loud and proud. The bar itself is a little tight and hot,...More

Visited on recommendation as Saturday night has DJ playing tracks from 60s to now. Very busy. Good atmosphere. Great music. However, people seemed to be ' clicky' and possibly local (it's a traditional pub), but after one drink my friend felt uncomfortable with the stares...More

Went in solo after having spend a few drinks in here. It's a quite place with limited choice of beers. Irish beers are on the walk. Good to watch a few Premiere league matches with a drink at this place. There is also some good...More

Called in during a couples night out. Fair priced drinks and a great atmosphere with a live band. Also have a great little disco 😊one of my regular haunts in Durham

What a brilliant day. The staff and Janine help me to celebrate my 50th birthday. Welcoming helpful atmosphere and a first class pub. What a day to remember and thank you for your hospitality.

First visit here, very much a drinking pub, great bar service with immediate eye contact from the bar staff despite serving other customers, very busy upon arrival as many football fans had gathered to watch the Man City vs Leicestershire match, which was being televised...More

This place has to be the surprise on the street. It's great, the atmosphere was brilliant.. It opens up into quite a large room , a good selection of beers to pick from. Try it you'll not be disappointed

While visiting friends in England we went to the Big Jug in downtown Durham for a few pints and to listen to the Tony Liddle and the Electric Warriors. What a fun evening. The band was great and the atmosphere was upbeat. The staff was...More
