This is a very nice walk that takes you from the centre of Bowness to the top of the fell. It’s steep in places so not suitable for the infirm, but can still be done by most people. Great views over Windermere and towards Barrow...More

Staying at a nearby B&B, this was one of 6 walks they recommended in the area. We set off with instructions, water and walking sticks! A gentle walk on the road to start with, followed by a track and through a kissing gate. The climb...More

Well worth the walk. It is not at all difficult and would take less than 30 minutes from the centre of Bowness. The only steep part is walking up the road from the Main Street in the village, after that it is much easier. The views...More

A nice little walk not far from the centre of Bowness with an amazing view at the end. If you get the opportunity, I'd definitely recommend this walk. Plus, if it's a nice day, take a picnic!

We do this walk each time we come to the Lakes. It's a short sharp climb to get a fantastic view right down the length of the Lake. We were lucky enough to watch RAF planes skirt down the Lake on training exercise. Once you...More

Started this walk from the town, initially worried about the difficulty of this after reading some reviews. No problem for us, great views at the top but we would have preferred a longer walk! Will try a different and longer walk when visiting the area...More

A short but sometimes steep walk is rewarded with some lovely picture postcard views of lake Windermere and the distant mountains. It certainly blew the cobwebs off this two semi-fit fifty somethings. Be prepared to be stared at by wary sheep and to negotiate the...More

You couldn't get to the top of the fell with any kind of pram. It's very steep and I don't think some could manage it on foot.
