Unfamiliar with the area, the statue is a great landmark for the bus terminals and busier areas of the town. I drove around the statue twice hunting for the free parking. It is an eye catching well preserved statue.

This well maintained statue has certainly split fellow reviewers! To me, it provides a useful landmark to everyone, whilst also acting as a trigger to those with any interest in local history to research the historical connection of George III to the town.

Improves the view while you wait for your bus. Otherwise....eee, hmm, ahhh, OK thats it. Now I have to write some drivel to make this long enough.

There is nothing to say, it is a local monument on the promenade and also a turning point for cars and buses.

Statue of King George III which commemorates his love of taking to the waters in Weymouth. It was cleaned up a lot just prior to the 2012 Olympics when the sailing took place here, and it still looks good on it.

Statue of King George 111 who was a regular visitor to Weymouth to "take the waters" - a typical bathing hut is also on display here. Restored for the 2012 Olympics so still in very good condition. Worth a drive/walk past when In town.

Splendidly made thing in the middle of the road along Weymouth esplanade. Worth taking a look at, but I wouldn't get the train here just to see it.

The Kings statue commemorates King George lll who frequented Weymouth often during his reign and popularised Weymouth as a seaside town and put Weymouth on the map. The statue dominates the entrance to St Mary Street.

Commemorating a former King George, now stands at the end of a roundabout in the town centre on the sea front. Useful as its where most of the bus routes start and finish but as a tourist spot, not worth looking for!
