Top marks for fascination and historic interest. Loads of paths and steps. Resonably safe and secure but lots of up and down. Mind blowing ancient ore works. Could be improved by signage and "way out"

We’ve visited twice in the last few years. Once in awful rain in August and once on a sunny spring day. Both were magical and just as enjoyable. It’s worth taking time to explore the different paths as there are little touches everywhere- like benches...More

Called in here for a brief walk with my wife ( Active 60's) Immediately transported to scenes from favourite books and films.....was there a party of Orcs around the next bend ? Would Indiana Jones and Lara Croft be fighting for an ancient relic ?...More

Beautiful part of the country, had a lovely couple of hours spent with family, walking around the stunning woods. Lots to look at and the children in our party loved it.

Difficult under foot. I took my grandchildren. The eldest lost interest after about 30 minutes which made the rest of the visit a trial. There was really not enough to do.

The woods themselves are brilliant and well worth the trip and the prices. Awesome, even. The rest of the location is at best mediocre.

A well run, nicely kept place. We had a coffee, sandwich and homemade cake in the cafe there. A very good start, served by a lovely welcoming lady. You follow a path around the wood, which can be slippy so you need to take care....More

It takes approx. 1 to 1.5 hours to figure it out. We walked around without seeing the same parts until we were walking out. There are no maps! Good Luck.
