As NT member we have visited many properties and would rate this as one of the better ones. Always some activities for kids and lovely grounds to walk around. Also a decent kids play ground.

Have to say, we found this one of the most uninteresting NT properties to visit as there is little to see except for the wall/ceiling paintings up the main stairway. We also found the place was littered with notice boards proclaiming vote for women -...More

Visited with our grandchildren who loved it. We walked the gardens and then took time to play in the extensive gardens. We all loved it. The Hall presently has scaffolding around it and so didn’t go inside simply because we didn’t have the time. The...More

Unfortunately I was greatly disappointed in the servants hall tea room, this is due to not having ANY sandwiches. Even worse they had a chef making soup and jacket potatoes, which I see as being much more demanding for a chef than to make a...More

The area by the NT gift shop is the main place to have a picnic. There is no picnic area by the cafe, or within the wall gardens. I hope that helps :)

Hi JackyT, Admission to the gardens is a Gift Aid price of £8.00 for adults or free if you are a member of the National Trust. The exhibition is in our Long Gallery and we hope you enjoy it.
