I took my four year old for the Christmas experience. It was OK. Logistically you're unable to have Santa on the train, compared to similar experiences elsewhere so you traveled to North Pole. The train journey was good, as expected. A queue to see Santa,...More

Visited the so called polar express today with my daughter and three year old grandson. On arrival he was given a passport. Boarded a dirty freezing cold train with not even one decoration on the carriages. Took to another stop where we were instructed to...More

We took the Tanfield polar express this weekend and had a wonderful time. The train and rail journey was excellent and the hospitality offered was homely but very atmospheric and superbly put together. One of the volunteers asked how experience could be improved; we couldn't...More

Visited the Railway today with my extended family. Just wanted to thank every employee working on the line and stations for a truly fantastic experience from start to finish - magical. Well worth the ticket price.

I think the bate approach should be made via the railway - or go to the railway, have a trip and go to the tea room and ask there.
