My wife and I had a very Informative visit. There were many rooms to visit with complete inventory of all the rooms. We did not go to the basement as this needed to be a prior booking. Would thoroughly recommend this National Trust property.

It’s an impressive and large house which is well worth a few hours of anyone’s time. We got there quite early as the house didn’t open until 12.30 but we are glad we did as entry is by timed ticket. In practice there was plenty...More

We enjoyed a wander around the house, taking in the fine architecture, beautiful furniture, paintings, décor and the beds with their impressive canopies. The highlight for me though was the basement tour, a fascinating insight into the working lives of the servants, illuminated with knowledge,...More

Yes the charge for the grounds are £12 per adult, £8.20 per child or a family ticket for £32.20. With 1300 acres of gardens and parkland it makes good value for money. Being a National Trust property if you are a member then... More

It runs pretty much every day so it should be fine on Friday. I think they only don’t run it if it’s icy or there’s a technical problem.
