An interesting experience. Great views from the walls. Lerwick has so much to offer. We intend to go back there next year. Great holiday

Lying over the town and overlooking the town and harbour. A good place for learning something about forgotten times and to get good overview especially for taking photos.

The Fort is a little light on anything to really see, but it does have information boards that tell you about its previous uses and parts it played in the town's history. The attraction is self guided and you are free to wander around. The...More

You can't miss this as you are walking through Lerwick - it is at one end of the main Commercial Street. It is well kept for what it is: heavy walls with a canon or two. Ok for kids to run around. No charge for...More

We walked through the fort whilst exploring Lerwick after our arrival on the early morning ferry. It’s unmanned but there are plenty of interpretation boards giving interesting information. Great views through the ramparts and opportunities for obligatory cannon sitting photographs.

We spent a pleasant 10 minutes walking around the fort but there is little of note to catch the imagination

In centre of town and well maintained being the ongoing base for the military. Well documented information boards give history over hundreds of years with great views over towards Bressay Island.

The best attractions are free and this proves it. The buildings are interesting but the view is to die for. You can see everything happening on Victoria quay. Just stand and see the busy harbour at work.

We were in Lerwick for the day so decided to have a look at Fort Charlotte which is in the centre of town. High stone walls with cannons on them facing out over the harbour looks the part but the only original part is the...More
