We were able to spend an afternoon visiting Fort Charlotte on a recent cruise. The fort was interesting with a couple good exhibits. We would visit again.

Interesting Fort which is quite big and takes up a big part up of downtown Lerwick. I was able to see the Queen's Hotel and residence of Perez in the Shetland TV Series.

We just kind of stumbled upon the fort entrance when we were wandering on a rainy Sunday morning when Lerwick is pretty much closed. Very interesting place with good views of the water and nearby islands, decent information scattered around. No idea if there are...More

Considering Lerwick is so remote it was interesting to find such fortifications here, There is frankly little to see and no access to the military buildings on site, Perhaps the best is the grand view over the harbour, There are no visitor facilities at all.

Had a look round, was fasinating to be honest to know this was used in the time it was. All easily walked round area in middle of town.

This is a nice little nice to stumble on but I wouldnt go out of my way to get there. Pretty views of the harbor tho.

An interesting experience. Great views from the walls. Lerwick has so much to offer. We intend to go back there next year. Great holiday

Lying over the town and overlooking the town and harbour. A good place for learning something about forgotten times and to get good overview especially for taking photos.
