Showcases the local designer knitters. Original ideas abound and will have you going off to find the genius behind the designers workshops. This is the must visit Shrine for Fibre Artists visiting Shetland.

Most enjoyable spot this is. A lot of things in Shetland are old but are continuously occupied but the reality is I went there to put myself in my grandfather's shoes. It is an amazing spot for doing that and this place just made it...More

This may be a small museum, but if you have any interest in knitting or weaving or the end results of either, it is a must-see place. The displays are fascinating and informative, but the enthusiastic volunteer staff make it even better. You can even...More

Looks scruffy and grey from the outside (authentically!) but it's one of those tiny museums that Shetland does so well. Genuinely interesting and staffed by ladies who know so much and will explain what you need or leave you in peace if you wish.

Having been to several other textile displays in Shetland I found this disappointing. The Shetland Museum had a much better collection and is free. Beautiful things on display, but mostly items for sale. We were probably in there around 10 minutes

My husband just parks up in the car park outside and gets stuck into a good book whenever I go to the Bod of Gremista because he knows he won't see me for ages. It is a very small museum (two rooms downstairs and two...More

If you like knitting and spinning you'll feel right at home here. Sit and chat with the ladies or examine the sweaters and learn about Shetland Tweed

Amazing little museum dedicated to knitting and all things textile! Really friendly staff, beautiful displays and just makes you want to get those knitting needles out. Combine this with a visit to Jamieson's Mill at Sandwick and ask at the Hay's Dock museum to see...More
