Overview
More
The Orkney Isles are famous for their dramatic cliffs, early cultural museums and historical stone monuments from Neolithic times. From Friday 30th March until Saturday 27th October 2018, Stagecoach bus route T11 will give visitors the opportunity to visit some of the Islands highlights including Skara Brae, The Ring of Brodgar andThe Standing Stones of Stenness, all for only £12 per person! Departing Kirkwall daily at 10am, you can admire the spectacular scenery from the top deck of our bus. Don’t forget you can join and leave the timetabled route at any point and connections are available using other Stagecoach services. Outwith built up areas, all our services run on a ‘hail and ride’ basis. So provided you can get to a safe spot on the main roads, simply make it clear to our driver that you’d like to get on board. If you are travelling in a group you can even give us advance warning of your group size and where you’ll be boarding.

I expected to spend a lot more touring around the island. However, thanks to the easy to follow bus schedule, I was able to go just about anywhere very cheaply. The drivers were friendly and helpful. I wish they had service like this everywhere.

We arrived in Kirkwall on a cruise ship. I had read on the Visit Orkney website about the T11 bus. A shuttle from the cruise port took us to a tourist information center. The bus station was right there. You can take a 3.5 hour...More

We enjoy this stagecoach ride very much. We sit on upper deck with cover so the view was great and not chill. After the ride, we stroll around the downtown area, then use that bus ticket to visit Italian Chapel with bus X1.

We were blessed with fantastic weather which really made this an excellent trip. Great value for money and enjoyed the stops at Skara Brae and Stones of Brogdar.

Pros: Cheap, and enough time on the two sites. Cons: The ONLY commentary was "Beware, it is going to rain." "Bus leaves in 35 minutes" "Bus leaves at 16:35" and "We are now passing The Standing Stones of Stenness." There were no real commentary so...More
