Got away from the hustle of the New Forrest. Good walks to / from Lymington, Keyhaven Hurst and Milford!

Beautiful walk
Jun 2021 • Friends
We walked along the sea wall from Lymington sea baths for about 5 kms, past the marshes. It’s so beautiful. Everyone you pass is so friendly, smiles and Good Mornings said. Going down to the New Forest is not all about the ponies, it’s about the sea views, fresh air and a brisk walk

Beautiful walks along the coast and marshes
Apr 2021 • Couples
Walks take you from Lymington Marina to Keyhaven, along the sea wall and old salterns. Plenty of birdlife and beautiful views of the sea and Marsh areas. Not well signposted, but this can be easily rectified.

Walks through well laid-out marshes near sea
Apr 2021
The Keyhaven Marshes are really three separate areas that meld into one glorious Nature Reserve, including the Pennington & Normandy Marshes and stretch from Keyhaven almost to Lymington.
Our visit was special being in spring and many baby chicks to see - perfect mild weather for long walks and views towards the Isle of Wight - well worth a visit

A nice flat walk for all ages.
Dec 2020 • Family
A great flat walk. Be aware this time of year a lot of the paths can be covered in water so make sure you have your vortex walking boots or wellies.
This can be either a short walk to stretch the legs and get the children out for fresh air or can be a long walk all depending on your abilities.
It can be mixed up by going via New Milton which gives you a small sea front and cafes to grab a out stop refreshments.

A Sunday walk
Oct 2020 • Couples
Keyhaven has been on my list of places to visit all summer and we finally made it on a beautiful autumn day. The walk is flat and we did see a few people using motorised wheelchairs. Quite a few bike riders who don't seem to realise walkers have right of way which did get annoying at some points.
Stunning views and lots of wildlife on the water and the marshes. There were benches to sit and enjoy the view. We almost did the ferry over to Hurst Castle but time was against us.

Great bike ride
Sep 2020 • Couples
we rode from Lymington to New Milton along keyhaven marshes .Absolutely peaceful ride with the sound of the sea/ small pebble beach stops/views of the marshes /birds / horses/ cows . Most people stop at the gun for lunch but we only had a drink here outside the pub as they don’t allow u to bring bikes into the garden. But continue left past the pub for five minutes and you come to new Milton with lots little shops, cafes and nicer pubs ....we stopped at the smugglers inn and the food was lovely.

Abandoned after five minutes
Jul 2020
We tried to do this walk but had to abandon it as the terrain was really not good for wheelchairs. I've seen photos of parts of it that obviously would be great for wheelchairs so maybe the website could be updated to indicate where to join the walk. Such a shame.
