Drove here for coffee and cake and to sit in the sun, coffee really good, amazing cakes very hard to choose as all looked amazing and homemade. Really Lovely. Busy with walkers, dogs, cyclists of all ages.

We went midweek and so enjoyed the peace and tranquility. The bluebells in Hambleton Woods are the best I’ve ever seen them.

What a beautiful peaceful place,, be prepared to do some walking ,and make sure you take drinks, as refreshment stands are of a minimum,, lots of picnics and BBQ,s going on.

At nearly twenty pounds for a 40 minute cruise for 2 people this isn't cheap - but it's a pleasant way to spend a little time! It's somewhat galling, though, to have to pay another nearly 4 pounds for the car park...

Parked the car at Normanton Car park and then went for a good walk in glorious sunshine. It was lovely to see the sailing boats out on the water. Also the swans and ducks with their ducklings

There is a birdwatching centre which is open all year ,I believe. Great place for information and recent sightings.

The Vaults in Uppingham. The Grainstore in Oakham The Lord Nelson in Oakham The Admiral Hornblower in Oakham Kavanagh's tearoom in Oakham These all serve great lunches.
