A well laid out site with fantastic garden displays. The beauty of this garden is its concentration on small gardens with brilliant effect. You can choose how much or how little to see. The only pity about this visit was the effect of the lack...More

2nd visit this year. May and July. Both times interesting but different. All starting to mature in May but fully out in July. Lots of weeds that needed attention but it seemed that watering was the main concern as it is so dry and lots...More

I've been visiting Barnsdale Gardens for 20 years and during my last few visits I felt a bit disappointed. The main garden area is no longer very interesting and the gardens made for television are in need of maintenance. There doesn't appear to be much...More

A gloriously sunny day may have coloured our view but I doubt it! I think even on a wet day we would have enjoyed these gardens. They are "human" size and most people would have room to incorporate one of the many designs here or...More

This beautiful setting shows 38 gardens created by a famous BBC gardening programme presenter, and gardener in his own right. There are 4 gardeners (I was told) who manage the maintenance of these and I think it shows! - they need more. Each garden is...More

Not being dog owners we hadn't taken notice of the arrangements for dogs. It appears that they can't be taken into the garden, but there's a small shaded parking area close to the entrance where they can be left in cars.
