We just went to tour the building and were blown away by the acoustics underneath the dome. The spa downstairs has a fascinating history. If we get back there I am definitely booking a mornings worth of pampering.

We visited this Dome in the day time and were enthralled by the amazing sound that reverberates as you stand in the middle. We came back again in the evening and walked in freely but weren't sure if we were allowed in at that time.

Just a short visit for us as there was an event taking place. This is a a fabulous building and the echo when you stand directly under the Dome are spooky. Go have a listen.

Had to visit here whilst in Buxton. Love the history surrounding this building. Very impressive building. Visited and just stopped for coffee in the cafe taking in the ambience.

This size and scale of this is worth viewing. Nice to see it being used as a campus. Beware standing in the centre and what you're saying...the sound carries like you would not believe. Free entry.

We visited The Dome as we understood it to be the 2nd largest unsupported dome in Europe. It’s an impressive space, with a diameter of 46metres, built in 1882 for the Royal Devonshire Hospital, now part of the University of Derby’s Buxton Campus. There is...More
