This is a must fantastic Victorian Engineering, and a welcome rest for those weary legs when walking round for the day and when you get to the top a lovely tea room for that well earned cuppa.

we used this tramway to take us back up to the top after a good walk and feeling slightly wind swept, it only cost £1.00 pp. lovely views as well, a great little ride just for fun or for disabled people who cant manage steps..

When we stay at the Grand we use the cable tram because due to health reasons we are unable to walk distances up and down when going along the sea front and beach. Excellent service by polite operatives.

At just £1 each way for adults, the 30 second one-way journey is far easier than walking up or down the adjacent stairs. The two cars are kept in mint condition and there is a nice display about the history and workings of the tramway...More

Even though you can walk up the steps by the side of the tramway, we just had to have a god up and walk down, it brought back great memories and was a treat

Really enjoyed this simple attraction. Clean and well presented in the way it probably would have been in its Victorian heyday. I could talk about the views from the top. But other reviews have done that. I wanted to compliment the staff who were very...More

Step back in time on this old world tramway descending and rising from Scarborough’s clifftops down to the end of the promenade and beaches. It’s only a pound each way per person and well worth it. Marvel at the engineering and save your tired legs....More
