I love this beach. It is so beautiful with the stones up the top, a sandy beach (when the tide is out), the red sandy cliffs and the view of Sidmouth. Well worth a visit!!

It's pretty hard to pick a fault with this beach. Okay, if you're a die-hard sand devotee, it'll not be your cup of tea. But there's a car park very close, a great restaurant and kiosk at Connaught Gardens at the top of the ladder...More

We had a wonderful morning touring Jacob’s Ladder. The site of the Ladder has spectacular views, beautiful gardens and the Clock Restaurant where we had coffee and a “cream tea”. If you are in Sidmouth you have to visit Jacob’s Ladder.

We liked the secluded gardens and especially the breathtaking views from the terraces. Walking through the beautifully kept gardens and hedges was relaxing and invigorating. Having space to have a restful pause after a long wal and climb to reach the gardens was what we...More

Visiting on our way to Connaught gardens the beach in April was empty. There are beach huts and a water tap for dogs. Dogs are allowed until 1st May I believe and the views are lovely from here.

Lovely place to take kids and animal lovers, they are doing amazing work. Have a stroll around the animals and then have a rest in the cafe overlooking stunning scenery.

Discovered this little gem by accident. Raining when we visited but excellent view. Lovely coffee shop nearby.

Good place to take a walk and wonder down the steps. Great view of the coast and sea. Gardens are nice and it also has toilet facilities. Difficult walk if you find walking hard, but worth the effort.

There is a car park opposite. The dog friendly beach area varies on time of year and is via a steep hill or steps.

Yes, please see my post. As you walk onto the beach from the East (Sidmouth) dogs are not allowed on the first third. Look straight ahead, you can see in the distance a post with a sign attached half way up the beach, from... More
