A moderate 5.5 mile walk around Sidmouth, an attractive seaside town on the coast of East Devon. Situated where the River Sid meets the sea, it is flanked on both sides by high ridges which contain the town and give it its scenic backdrop. No stiles; the route climbs on the South West Coast Path from sea level to 200m/650ft at the ridge top, a long steady rather than steep climb.

the historic facts behind these cliffs tell a story that most don't know .......... I won't spoil it for you but besides the view the tales themselves are delightful

My husband and I decided to drop off here on our way home from Torquay and were pleasantly surprised at how lovely Sidmouth is. It has everything- unspoilt Sea Front, coastal/sea views, lovely shops in a vibrant town open all year round

Had a lovely day here with my partner and our dogs, great walks around and really tasty coffee shops, really enjoyed ourselves, we even got to see a very large seal swimming along the shore line.

Miles of beautiful, quiet beaches and we walked, ate and loved every minute of it. It's all so clean and not touristy in May.

quite an energetic walk with some steep inclines and from time to time very muddy, but this will be due to the most appalling weather Sidmouth has seen for a long time some places were cut off for a week not so long ago. Views...More

Truly magnificent walk on the red jurassic cliff tops overlooking the sea and coast. Sidmouth as well is a lovely town. Top tip; try to pick a calm and clear day and then you will appreciate the beautiful surroundings.

Sidmouth is a great town. We stayed there while exploring the whole Jurassic coast. It is a good place to 'make camp' to see everything - you are very central. We got to go everywhere and the roads are easy and clear. The beach and...More
