Really enjoyed this museum, rich in the history of the local regiments. Plus the artefacts that take you back over 300 years really show how the British army has evolved over this period

Thank you for the review. We do our best to tell these stories and preserve Regimental history so it is fantastic to hear positive comments from the relatives of those who have served.

Situated inside the wall of Carlisle castle we spent about 2 hours absorbing the vast array of displays and information regarding the regiments from the area. Any one interested in history be it general or military will find it fascinating . well worth a visit

Unfortunately as Judy has pointed out, parking on the Parade Square is for staff and Blue Badge holders only. There is a pay and display car park next to the castle which is a short distance away Matt, Museum Assistant

Hello, the nearest car park to us is Devonshire Walk pay and display which is just round the corner from the castle. However if you are a disabled badge holder you can park inside the Castle.
