Highwoods is a great park because it's huge and covers lots of habitat. River, pond, fields, woods and wetland provide a huge range of birds and animals to see. The Big Garden Project is a great addition to the community.

This is a lovely park to visit, walk around, ses the wildlife and enjoy a coffee or tea at the rangers hut. There are 2 play areas for children, a lake for fishing and several signposted walks.

Pleasant October afternoon walk in the park plus enjoyable Halloween Bingo trail which made my son walk further than usual! He also really enjoyed the play area. Highly recommend for a family walk with or without a dog.

Such a lovely area to walk round..we are so lucky in Colchester..to have such a great outdoor area to walk round at our leisure..come here often with the grandkids..they love the freedom.

High woods Country Park is a large beautiful park situated on the outskirts of the town, it is very peaceful with lovely scenery. It is a great place to while away a few hours for families,couples and individuals.

Took the dog for a walk here. Lovely safe place. People seem to pick up their dog poo, which makes a change. Would loved to have more time to explore. Well laid out walks and signs. Had a coffee, but not the best. Could improve...More

Certainly - there are two excellent play areas that cater for younger and the more adventurous opposite the path from each other just down from the visitor centre.
