The Castle Nuseum was a good place to visit with lots of information about the town of Colchester and its history. The only issue i had was too many out of control and extremely noisy school children. Their teachers didn't seem too bothered in controlling...More

The preservation of the castle and the considerate 'modernisation' to provide a great exhibition space and support for interactive displays (particularly for children) makes this a great place to visit. The number and quality of local artifacts on display is also very good.

There is a lot crammed into a small space and the use of digital graphics was interesting. Great for children as there are many interactive displays. The castle is used for weddings so some was closed when we visited.

Well worth a visit. Really fun and informative. Unfortunately most of the schools were visiting today. So it was very noisy. But it was fascinating.
