While in Somerset we went around the Museum it was lovely and well kept, lots of interesting this to see and so much fun for the kids with the booklet of things to find and write about.

What a great find! Set in the castle fully refurbished with 400 million years of facts and history. In the heart of the city surrounded by lovely architecture this is a must do for anyone visiting Taunton. Best of all its free! !

There is something of interest for everyone in this fabulous museum set in the old Taunton Castle. It is easy to stay for 2-3 hours looking at the exhibits and learning about the area and those who have lived and worked on the land. Only...More

We visited, two adults and a 13 yr old, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Well worth a visit. Nice café onsite and gift shop.

I will start with a word of warning regarding finding this museum. Post Code with sat. nav. does not identify the exact location. Travelling along the M5 to Taunton we saw one sign giving directions after which entering Taunton there are no signs at all....More

Parking was easy to find just round the corner from the museum. From the outside and despite later alterations it’s easy to see the medieval layout of the castle. Once inside the main gatehouse you are presented with a beautiful courtyard a sea of tranquility...More

Probably too late - Morrisons is free for two hours and is large so normally has spaces.

get the bus from the railway station to the bus station[about a mile]the museum is next to the bus station
