Pugney’s Country Park is a great place to visit whether it’s just for a stroll round the lake or for a full day’s outing enjoying a picnic and all the facilities. There’s a great children’s playground, cycle hire, water sports, barbecue grills, circular walk round the lake, lots of open space for picnics as well as picnic tables, and a cafe. Any family can enjoy a great day out here for the price of the parking (currently free until end of January 2021 but note that some facilities are closed due to COVID-19) Highly recommend

We’ve been to Pugneys quite a few times but never walked to the Castle so this time we did.It offers good views from the top and there is information about the site on a notice board.Sadly lager cans and bottles were littered around which is a shame but still worth a visit.

This is a waterpark with no water sports, the council needs to get grip and put water activities back on the lake. SORT IT OUT

Nice walk aroung the lake in about 40 minutes at a very leisuerly pace on a footpath that only had a few puddles. We visited midweek after a few days of rain. Could imagine that with a free car park, at the moment, it could get very busy at weekends! Whilst we didn't visit the cafe several people were taking the opportunity of having a hot drink. Next time we may take the opportunity to visit the nearby Sandal castle.

This is a lovely small lake which provides a perfect walk, not too long or short. Children very well catered for with a playground as well as wooden frames for learning and climbing on along the paths. There is a variety of water fowl throughout the year. There are good facilities including toilets, a cafeteria ,a dog station for watering and washing.
