Well, obviously useful, but July and August are a nightmare. So is the price for one car. As soon as the sun comes out, the queues for this ferry are ridiculous. Especially on return, where I have waited for well over an hour to get...More

Ferry still out of action nearly 3 months after going for its biannual refit. There is much speculation as to why it is still ‘out of action’. Rumours abound. They include : sour grapes over being denied a price increase. The cost of running it...More

It’s a good service when it is working but has been plagued by problems recently. It needs to be more robust as when it’s out of service it means a 20+ mile car journey around Poole harbour instead .

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Fairly busy crossing. Although packed in like sardines. Will use again when needed.

Love this ferry! Guys work hard, it’s great fun on this chain ferry, which carries cars, vans and buses. Cuts your mileage and on getting off on the beach at Shell Bay. Walk around the corner to see Old Harry Rocks and Studland Beach.

The ferry saves a long drive around Poole Harbour and since it is attached to both sides of the harbour mouth by a chain so that it doesn't float away you always know where it's going.
