So wanted to be able write something positive about the cafe, as Alton Water walks/ playground/ picnic areas etc are top notch. However our experience today was awful. Service was very slow, staff seemed unable to organise taking orders and serving. Once we had ordered...More

This is a review about the 13 km walk around Alton Water. The walk, on a well made-up path, was not especially interesting except the south-west section. It was spoilt, to some extent, by people on Mountain bikes generally not showing consideration to walkers

This is a great place to visit. There are some great walks, good play areas for the kids and a nice cafe. We visited on a hot summer day and it was awesome. Give it a go.

Why pay to park. Have just returned from some beautiful walks around Yorkshire reservoirs which had excellent facilities, of which none charged for parking. Also paying to park and only use cafe makes for an expensive coffee and bun.
