The gallery, which is on three floors has a great feel to it. Entry is through the rather expensive shop leading to the ground floor exhibits. The stairs lead to further galleries and a well facilitated popular cafe. We spent some time in the thought...More

Just three floors. Easy to walk around with lots of resources for children. Large print guides available for the Edward stott exhibition. However the details of each painting could have been bigger, as lots of people were peering to read at the same time. The...More

I have visited this gallery twice while in Eastbourne and both times found the temporary exhibitions most interesting and stimulating, staff very friendly and helpful, and the display areas spacious and airy. There is also a permanent display featuring the local artist Eric Ravilious which...More

The gallery itself is impressive, but not a huge collection of art. I enjoyed several pieces and staff were friendly and helpful. Most of the art was not my particular cup of tea but others will enjoy.

This modern art gallery had an interesting exhibition of works by Edward Stott while we were there. What ever the exhibition though its well worth a visit if you are interested in art. Pleasant small cafe on the top floor.

It was either this June or July when we visited with our guests from South Africa. The exhibition is small and very modern, in fact it reminded me of the Tate on the South Bank as there were a couple of exhibits that went way...More

The Towner is a great place to go on a rainy day in Eastbourne. The Ravilious artwork is always brilliant, and they almost always have a free exhibition on. It's also great for kids - they have a space for children to hang out and...More

This gallery demonstrates how challenging it is to show major exhibitions outside London. The building is a recent concrete structure which is neither unpleasant nor inspiring. We visited the Edward Stott exhibition described enthusiastically as a "Master of Colour and Atmosphere". This was disappointing and...More

We stayed at a homtel that may be out of your price range. It was the "Big Sleep Hotel", close to the pier and overlooking the sea. We loved it.
