Statue to the famous Sissi, that is Empress Elizabeth, is located at Volksgarten. It is quite a lovely monument. She is probably one of the most beloved women in the Austrian history, so this is a fitting tribute.

This monument memorializes Empress Elizabeth, or Sissy, who was one of Austria's most famous women. She was assassinated in Geneva by an extremist, but the people of Austria love her!

Empress Elizabeth is probably the most famous woman in the Austrian history. She was the wife of the Emperor Franz Joseph I and, after many tragic events in her life, murdered by anarchist Luigi Lucheni in Geneva. Her statue is located in Volksgarten.
