This church (one of the oldest in Vienna) is worthy of being sought out. A bit hard to find. Beautiful interior with stained glass windows some which still contain medieval fragments. Artworks (annunciation) also from that period. For a more modern twist, you will recognize...More

Church set in an elevated position that is very tall and long relative to its width. These characteristics enhance the effect of the magnificent alter set in front of 3 intense stain glass windows. Slightly of the main tourist route but definitely worth a visit

Worth trying to find (not really that hard)and not too far from other attractions. The steeple top is a very unique sight. The odd shaped interior is a story unto itself. There is some real beauty to the interior.

Maria am Gestade is a Gothic style church in Vienna's city center, traditionally used by sailors on the Danube river. Today the church is in the hands of the Redemptorist order. Services are held regularly.

This church is not mentioned in many guides and not many guided tours lead past it, but it's a hidden gem in the first district. It seems rather unremarkable, but don't be fooled. When in the area you should certainly have a look at it.

This is a beautifully crafted small church hidden in the back streets in the northern part of the city centre. I visited on a Sunday morning meaning I was unfortunately not able to get inside as the service was on so could only view the...More
