Of the major plazas around Vienna this is the one that is a must see. It has statues and monuments worth looking at and even has historical Roman Ruins. If you only see one major plaza, this would be your choice.

A central meeting place in front of the Hofburg Palace. You can take a horse and carriage ride from here for an agreed route. The old cobble street and fountains are a great setting. Just a stop and look on your city walking.

Lots of tourists wanting to visit and see the Hapsburg Palace and related attractions such as museums, palace, churches, restaurants, coffee shops, and of course, the beautiful fountain. Happy visit!

Looking up to the Entrance to Hofburg and the Spanish riding school it is difficult to find fault with the location of this wonderfully preserved part of Vienna.

A beautiful square in the centre of Vienna next to the entrance to the Spanish Riding School and the Hofburg. Many horse drawn vehicles in this area. If you go through the archway and continue you will find several small souvenier shops.

I think of this public square as the place where royal and civilian life collide. It’s a popular place for tourist photos now; horse-drawn carriages and statues are ubiquitous. Take a look at the Michaelerskirche while you’re there — its an elegant and quiet place...More
