Porgy & Bess is a modern and innovative music club in Vienna's Inner City which is said to be one of the best Jazz clubs in Europe. Seatings, snacks and drinks are offered. Great atmosphere!

The venue was great: small, intimate with nice acoustic resonance. As others have said, if you wish to sit for a show you must purchase tickets ahead of time specifically for a seat. They sell other tickets for standing room only. Limited cocktail/snack menu. Friendly...More

Enjoyed my time there for the Wein Modern. Really you are there for whatever performance you went for but the olace was friendly, comfy and good bar with food available.

Porgy & Bess has a very varied lineup of differing jazz ensembles. We went to hear the Leadbelly Project and it was fabulous. Do reserve in advance, though, otherwise it'll be standing room only!

I visited when Ed Motta was performing there. And I was dancing as the music was very groovy! So I think it depends on the artist. I really liked it!

Porgy and Bess do sometimes do Jazz for Kids concerts, so it may be worth ringing in advance to see if anything coincides with your visit.
