Overview
More
The Spanish Riding School in Vienna is the only institution in the world which has practiced for more than 450 years and continues to cultivate classical equitation in the Renaissance tradition of the Haute Ecole - which can also be found on UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity. The performances of the horses trained by this famous equestrian school amazed audiences from all over the world.

Can’t go to Vienna without seeing the Lipizzaner horses. You will need to book in advance, it fills up quickly. Very nice display/show takes little more than an hour.

Wonderful place to watch beautiful horses. Understand though that this is a practice session and you only see the horses being excessed and not a performance. We went into the cafe inside first for a coffee and pastry before which, it means you can miss...More

We went to see the morning exercises yesterday. Given the high price for entry this is only likely to be appreciated by people who particularly like horses. There were no seats and the horses were mainly being walked around the edges of the arena. I...More

My wife and I were really looking forward to this. We arrived to Vienna on a Monday and are leaving on a Friday and thus missed any of the night-time performances. We were told that there was no reason to get there early because they...More

Bought tickets for this for the 11am display on Sunday. This was on my wife's list for as long as I can remember, so it was a nice surprise. Prices vary depending on where you are seated or standing. I bought tickets late, so only...More

Not a cheap experience, but one of the things you want to do whilst in Vienna. About an hour and twenty minutes of a display, but with quite a bit of talking! However the skill of the horses and riders in that setting makes a...More

52€ for a bad place at the second floor, for a show of a bit more than an hour. Unfriendly staff, looking at you if you were criminals when you’re watching your smartphone. Pictures not allowed, although the show isn’t worth the money. Very traditional,...More

I wanted to see the famous Lippizzaner Stallions, but we weren’t going to be in town for the next show. So, we paid 15€ each to witness the morning training session “with music”. The classical music was definitely the most exciting part. The “training” consisted...More

Morning practice seems to be quite busy so if you want to Definitely go, I’d pre book. I didn’t but managed to get in on both days, but that’s not guaranteed!

Ticket office is just inside the entrance to the building housing the Spanish Riding School. There may be a long line of people waiting to enter, but check first inside to verify you need to wait in the line.
