Well, I have to admit, I've never heard of Goethe until now. But after doing a little research I can see why a statue was created for him.

It's a big statue. It's in front of some nice gardens. I don't really know anything about topic of the stature. Although it appears well done.

It is nice to see this poet's status. As a music student, i knew many composers used his poems for their art songs. However, you neednt spend too long there.

Nice statue honoring Goethe. It is in the middle of all the action Just down from the opera house and almost next to the palace. Right on the bike path too.

The Goethe Denkmal, or monument to Goethe is located just outside the Burggarten. It is an elegant statue of a seated Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, the 18th century German poet, philosopher, writer, and statesman.

The monument was created by Eduard Hellmer in 1895. Goethe was one of the most important literary men,his personality including area as poetry, theater director, scientist and statesmen. Situated one stop from Staatsopera, vis a vis of the Meridiene Hotel ,the statue is an impressionant monument of art.
