Lots of stairs but worth the walk! Even with a sprained ankle I pushed myself I had to see where Maria went! I went early evening, it didn't disappoint, Sound of Music memories came flooding through while walking around.

A beautiful place. I spent a lot of time in the church during my trip. Planning on another trip to Salzburg next summer and I am planning to return to the Nonnberg Convent.

This is the oldest convent north of the alps. It was made famous by the Sound of Music. I think it is a short walk from the nearest parking. If you don’t have a car, there are two steep walks up to the convent; or...More

The climb was long and at the end, there was not much to see. Time would be better spent going to the fortress or the Dwarves Park
